Emily Bannister
Emily Bannister completed her Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Birmingham in July 2012 studying with Ross Winters. She went on from this to complete her Masters at the Royal College of Music, achieving a Distinction in 2014, where she studied with Ashley Solomon, Julien Feltrin and Maria Martinez Ayerza. Currently studying with Jorge Isaac at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, Emily focusses on contemporary chamber music performance, and has a strong interest in interdisciplinary performance.
Emily has performed in a number of prestigious concert venues, including Buckingham Palace, Queen Elizabeth Hall and the Wigmore Hall. She has performed on BBC Radio 3 in the new opera by Michael Wolters, The Voyage, as part of the 2012 Cultural Olympiad.
She has a keen interest in contemporary repertoire and has participated in several collaborative projects with RCM composers, such as the college's Contemporary Music in Action series. Emily was the winner of the Sir John Manduell Prize for contemporary music at the Bromsgrove International Musicians Competition in 2017.
